I simply adored making this artwork. Autumn is one of my favourite seasons - the richness of the colours, the turning of the leaves, the crunch of the woodland floor and the freshness in the breeze. I find the scene change magical! This artwork was inspired by this love of autumn and features a couple of the loveliest woodland animals: the grand stag - turning to see who's coming before disappearing into the woods - and the hare, caught in mid leap, as she seeks for cover amongst the growth. The Blackbird is singing her tuneful song up in the trees, catching the attention of a fox who eyes her with a tasty look. This piece is full of little stories to discover and would make a fabulous talking point for a table decoration or in a quiet corner to gaze at and get lost in the moment.
With a simple flick of the switch the woodland comes to life with tiny, glowing, warm LED lights revealing a gust of wind whipping up freshly-fallen leaves.
This artwork is entirely hand cut from the finest G.F. Smith Papers from London. Lovingly arranged and preserved for generations in a beautiful glass cloche. The artwork can be viewed without the glass cloche if desired but I'd advise it to be covered most of the time to avoid dust collecting.
